"Are
you hiring?"
- Due
to our small practice size, our turnaround is generally low.
However, we are always accepting applications which are kept on
file for up to one year.
"Your
website says Small Animal Practice - do you see large dogs such as
mastiffs?"
- YES!
We see all domestic dogs and cats. "Small animal" means we do not
see large domestic animals (i.e. horses, sheep,
cows).
"Do you
see birds/reptiles/amphibians/fish? What about exotic
mammals?"
- Unfortunately, we are
not equipped to see birds, reptiles, amphibians or fish. We
will see hamsters, gerbils, mice, rats, rabbits, and guinea pigs
but may refer to an exotic animal vet for some
cases.
"Will
you trim my dog/cat/guinea pig/rabbit's nails?"
- YES!
We will trim nails but we do ask that you have proof of a rabies
vaccine for dogs and cats for the safety of our staff. Also,
some technicians/assistants are not comfortable with rodent nails
so appointment times may vary based on who is
available.
"Do you
accept volunteers?"
- Due
to the nature of our work, we are unable to accept volunteers for
liability reasons. Some of our veterinarians are more than
happy to allow students to shadow for a day. Individuals
shadowing are not allowed to interact with patients or assist
technicians/doctors.
"Why are some of your
medications more expensive than at the pharmacy/retail
store?"
- We
are a small business and have to price accordingly due to the
overhead costs associated with our clinic (e.g. employee wages,
insurance, utilities, licensing fees, pharmaceutical costs,
supplies, etc). Retailers such as Cost-Co, Walmart, and Sam's Club
are able to price lower due to the volume of products
ordered.
"Do you
offer discounts?"
- The
only discount we offer is 20% off of services (not
medication/products) for families who bring 3 or
more pets in within the same visit/day. This
does NOT include surgerical procedures or
dentals.
- Registered therapy
dogs & police/rescue dogs are eligible for discounts -
documentation to prove
active status is required.
